Services in the Crematorium usually last 30 Minutes, this can vary depending on the type of service, if it is a simple committal of the coffin this can be around 15 minutes.

Services in the Old Cemetery Church are 30 Minutes followed by a short committal at the graveside.

Can I choose the music for a funeral in the Crematorium or Old Cemetery Church?

We use the Wesley Music System in the West chapel, this allows families to choose from a huge range and selection of music that is played digitally in the Funeral Service (We recommend no more than 4 pieces of music (i.e. Entry, Hymn, Reflection/Committal, Exit Music) during a service to ensure the service does not run over the allotted 30 minutes. Although extended services are available upon request (This incurs an additional fee).

The Old Cemetery Church has CD facilities and the families choice of CD can be played during the service, again we recommend no more than 4 pieces of music (i.e. Entry, Hymn, Reflection/Committal, Exit Music) during a service to ensure the service does not run over the allotted 30 minutes.

Both the Chapel and Church also contain Organs (Pipe Organ in the West Chapel, Electronic Organ in the Old Cemetery Church) for the playing of Hymns or your choice of music, this service can be arranged via your Funeral Director.

What if a lot of mourners attend a funeral?

The West chapel has a generous standing area at the rear of the chapel, and if this is not large enough to accommodate everyone we have a large wall mounted TV and external speakers outside the Chapel to allow everyone to take part in the service.
